Nathan Hughes is a British Journalist who lives in the village of Llanharan in South Wales. He has a 2:1 Honours Degree in Broadcast Journalism obtained from the University of Glamorgan.
Nathan has a passion for Formula One and elsewhere on this site you can read his blog in the latest goings on in the sport. Nathan is trained fully in the use of all radio equipment and the Sony Z1 Camera.
Nathan has lived in Llanharan all his life and attended Dolau Primary School until 1999. Nathan was appointed Head Boy in his final year. He still holds a good friendship with head teacher Gareth Evans.
From 1999 to 2006, Nathan attended Pencoed Comprehensive School. Whilst at the school, Nathan took part in a wide range of extra curricular activities. He was a member of the school choir for the entire 7 years he was at the school, singing in every concert held. He also worked on the backstage team for 4 school productions. Nathan also represented the school at several debating championships, as well as the Model United Nations and Model National Assembly.
In Sport, from 2002 to 2006, Nathan was the referee for many of the school's Football and Rugby matches, and was a popular figure as a result. Nathan also wrote a poem entitled 'The Chapel' which was published in a book.
In 2004, Nathan achieved 10 GCSE qualifications in English Language, English Literature, Mathematics, Science (Double Award), Welsh, Geography, Information Technology, History and Religious Education. This was followed in 2005 by 4 AS Level Qualifications in English, History, Computing and Geography.
In 2006, Nathan achieved three A Level qualifications in English, History and Computing. Between September 2006 and May 2009 Nathan studied BA(Hons) Broadcast Journalism at the University of Glamorgan, gaining a 2:1 Honours Degree.
Outside of education, Nathan is a fully qualified Rugby Union referee for the Welsh Rugby Union. He is also a keen singer, singing as both a solo artist and as part of the Mid Glamorgan Mixed Choir. Nathan is also a figure head in his local community and is the Secretary of Bryncae Community Centre.
